Getting Married in the Melksham Area

Congratulations, on deciding to get married. We will be delighted to welcome and assist you in every way to make your wedding personal and memorable for you. Churches are special places and there are some things about a church wedding that you just can't get anywhere else.Wedding -_compressed

We offer you the chance to marry in a beautiful and traditional setting where you can make your promises to each other before your friends and family and in the eyes of God. Your vows (promises) to each other will be public and God and the church will be with you helping you keep your vows.

In Melksham there are three Anglican churches; St. Michael & All Angels, in Canon Square, St. Andrews in the Forest area and St. Barnabas in Beanacre. You may choose to marry in any of our three churches providing you are resident in the Parish, or if you can show a qualifying connection. For details of qualifying connections see either our website or the Church of England website.

Within the formal and legal context of the service, your Wedding can be as individual as you are, with the opportunity for your friends and family to contribute to your celebrations as you consider appropriate. We can offer you a choice of music from our experienced team of organists, or you may prefer a friend to contribute to the music of your service. In recent years, our couples have left the church to start their married life, with a variety of music to send them on their way, from the traditional Wedding Marches, to a CD of a favourite artist or even bagpipes!

In St. Michael and All Angels we can further help you celebrate your marriage and announce it to the world, with a fine peal from our tower of eight bells, rung superbly by our volunteer team of ringers.
